OK, I've tried. Lord knows I've tried.
But in the end, I hope someone do get that car.
After I left a message on its FB ad, the gentleman contacted me 15 days later, the car still being for sale (in contradiction to everything that he said here so far), for the same old price of $4000. The guy was very slow in answering messages, rarely more than a sentence at a time. I tried to call him four days in a row, he never answered. Allright, it's not easy being 9 time zones away, but still. I called between 8pm - 10pm here, meaning 11am - 1pm there. Never an answer, even though I told him in advance I was going to call. He said to me he had no phone service during those hours.
I asked him for a scan of the title of the car. He answered OK, to wait a day or so, "
Canada being far behind in technology and that only 1% of the people from its town (Kamloops, BC) had a scanner" (!). A picture would have been enough, though. But I never received anything. After 2 days, he told he had sold the car to someone that had until 7pm the next day to come with the cash, was I still interested ? ... It resembled a lot to the story CanCritter told. So in the end I let it go.
Here are some pictures he sent me, for those willing to go on that adventure ...
Someone close to British Columbia should work around that guy and get that car.
Original Lime Green car, 383, A/C, bucket seats ... It's a shame I did not succeeded in buying it.
