1971 Chrysler T&C 440

Yeah that dual snorkel is a prized piece these days I'm sure it's on some super bee clone I'm glad I still have mine and last year when my car broke down at Norwalk oh. I pulled it and put it in the trunk so it would still be there in AM. E85 is hp cam right? car should have hp exhaust manifolds

E85 would be the standard 440 4V... E86 being the 440HP, not offered in T&C in '71. I was surprised to see both my old 70 and 71 police cars still had their original dual snorkel air cleaners when I owned them.

i have a 3rd seat assembly from a 71 T&C. The cushions are in great shape.

Let me know if you are interested

Thanks all... truly a great site for those who appreciate the need for sheet metal. So... went weed wackin, sprayed wasp nest(large) and aired the two rear tires that would hold. Got the moss off, pass rear door still will not open. I was wrong, jambs are not like new, but close as you can get for where it has been. Tore up carpet, no holes... but really soggy. I spent three hours on it today... have yet to talk $. Damn tweakers cut wiring harnesses in engine bay, other parts wagons in yards... I know I will buy, then find a better one. But again, have seen only a few '71s around on the sites and no 440. That is what is driving me...must be saved! It is really a got to be dedicated deal, lotsa work...

Hey Welcome to the board. Sweet car. And I hope you get it out of there...and back on the street.

I kind of like it with the roof rack missing. Make up a couple delete plates and leave the roof rack off.

I first messed it up with the white, former blue 72; good a couple more wagons come into play.

I pretty much botched editing the pictures. Actually found crushed single snorkel air cleaner base inside the car and what was left of the carb(turned into white powder). Next trip will see if 440 turns over. If the $ is right will change out front tires and take the mess home. :icon_biggrin:

I doesn't look like such a mess. I'm astonished at the condition of the sheetmetal...the spare tire well is nearly always holed with rust. I've restored way worse.

The sheet metal is really nice on the wagon, considering... underneath would be even better if it weren't for the grass. The mess comes after removing trash from the cargo area to find thousands of ants. The wiring harnesses will be replaced with originals. Removing the seats, carpet and a good dose of the garden hose will be a big improvement.

Glennb49 here, Hope you go for it and get another great old Mopar back on the road. I need a nice rust free rear bumper for my 72 TC . Think 71-73 are the same , they have the rectangular back up lamp, with or without steps, mine is with out being a six passenger, are there any others in this yard? Thanks Glenn.

Glenn, there are 3 '69s and the '71 only probably won't help.

Rick

This makes much more sense... blue T-code 440 with optional dual exhaust gave you dual snorkel air cleaner. This one still has single exhaust... will be upgrading to TNT specs. I will have to check, but believe only air cleaner lid remains in cargo area...
