Needs oil pump??

Wyatt, I was asking why the person posting the listing thought it needed an oil pump - not that I thought it did. Or are you disagreeing with my question in the first place???

Cars that have been in desert areas tend to build up sand in the lower front fenders and elsewhere in the body from the high winds and rain that occur in deserts. The moisture that collects tends to stay there a long time, leading to some small areas of rot. This is nothing at all to deal with generally and that Dodge constitutes a very rust free car in my opinion including the trunk. Even the rear window area looks pretty clean.

And even the door panels are very nice still despite the typical sun in the Santa Fe area.

I was disagreeing with it needing an oil pump but that 360 would not be staying in the car anyway.

If you like the car by all means go buy it. You are probably starting with a car with a dead 360 and no title. Body is certainly repairable, most of the exterior trim is gone. There is at least $4k in body work and another $4k in paint, all doable. You will have to really love this car because I do not see any way to make it road worthy and presentable for under $20k unless you are one of those rare individuals who can do all the work yourself. Good luck.

With only 84K miles on the car and engine spins free, the engine might very well still be good. It might need a timing chain due to age and the plastic teeth that are probably lodged in the oil pick up tube.

It will depend on if the seller had the good sense to park it once the oil light came on.
