What is done is done. The sad truth is that yourself and the few people here are the only ones on the planet that give a rats *** about what happens to these cars. You are welcome here because you obviously care about your car. Please keep us up to speed on your progress.

Carsten: It's a 4 door sedan. No one is beating down his door to "save" this car. Step up to the plate, then.
He's not a kid that came here asking if 26" rims will fit and how to make 600 hp out of a 318. That kid needs to be taken out to the back 40 and shown the error of his ways.
Jim, you got the street creds and sounds like you paid your dues. Cop car clones aren't my bag of tea but my cars seem to be nobody else's bag of tea.
I'm interested in seeing the process of making a quality cop car clone. I used to detest the Bluesmobilers but someone here gave me religion on the art of detail that some guys go to.

I plan to keep this car in our family for many years. Financially, it didn't make economic sense to start with a car that was high mileage and needed extensive mechanical and/or body work. I was able to pick this car up at a reasonable price and will probably have about $12K into the project when I'm finished. I don't drive the 57 Belair far distances because of the original single master cylinder/drum brake setup, 2 speed powerglide tranny and bias ply tires. The Fury, on the other hand, is much safer at higher speeds and can be used for shows further from our home. Here's a photo after the vinyl top and side moldings were removed. The other photos are of the light/siren and Motorola radio that are period correct.

Palm City, just west of Stuart. My son is headed to "12 hours of Sebring" on March 16 with his Honda S2000. Jim

Howdy. I'm thinking of running up to the spring Turkey Rod Run on March 24th for the day. There's a show on March 23 in Stuart called the Autogeek Detail Fest that I'll probably do with my 57. . My son used to work for them and still has friends there. Here's a feature they did on my 57 Chevy last year. Scroll down for the beginning of the story and there are some good detailing pointers included:

When your son comes to Sebring, I'll have all the cleaning supplies ready for him to do my car.

How's that old line go?
Q: How fast can you make my car go?
A: How much money do you have?

eggzactly....open ANY car craft mag issue. there is somebody in there pulling unholy amounts of hp from the tiniest motor they can find.

I enjoy watching on YouTube all the epic engine destructions while being dyno'd.
Four turbochargers bought on ebay, one per cylinder, is not going to give that 80,000 mile VTECH 1,000 hp....

Useless wanton destruction. I can dig it.
