IF ADD IS UP ITS AVAILABLE for fux sake. Perfect running 440. One of 1440 coupes made with ultra rare Bendix antilock brake (never messed w/that). Was unusual olive green top now black. Weird rare combo. Green leather hi back seats and dash are excellent. 72000 orig miles. Underside extremely solid. Rust in lower quarters. Was stored many years. Trans rebuilt in the past. Bought many moons ago and Maine doesn’t require a title, so there’s that. IF YOU’RE SERIOUS…CALL afternoons and evenings 2o7, 653, o988 for honest thorough description.

Wonder what was originally green. Regardless, very seldom seen 1971 2dr imperial. Would be great to have the tag.
 
Green top and upholstery/black paint, maybe that's what he means?
 
Black two door Imperial is indeed a rare bird.
Shame that it's a crusty car.
This car needs another Julian.
 
Yeah I worded that a little fuctly. Original black car - I dyed top black. Top was green.
Just another black & green '71 coupe! ;)

Also, I sorry for my sins of putting wide whites on a '60s/'70s car.
They were all out of 2 inch wide white walls at the time.

Yeah, all true.

The rust is evidencing itself, from what we can see, in the "problematic" spots. Hard to remediate with metal (need access to/must be skilled with metal repair), and usually more extensive than one thinks until you get into it.

Still, nice, rare sled. Wish seller all the best with it.

The seats and doorpanels look really good.
All things considered, I'd rather deal with that down-low sheetmetal rust than try to get the interior repaired.

If circumstances were different, I do believe I'd be tempted to make that a Fury Fan car.

Exactly. Making a bunch of extremely simple patches is a million times easier than finding a 55 yr old interior that is, or looks original & nice.
Though I've been doing metal work on rusty shtwagons for many decades, seems like far more do-it-yourselfers are...well, doing it themselves.

@TX9 in CA sold that car (YM23T1C211836) to @olds who fully restored it and sold it to France in 2020. I agree with @fury fan that YM23T1C221035 has, AFAICT, the same potential to be restored to greatness. I hope that @Sgt-Few-So-Large finds a good caretaker for her
Not only that, it would be such a nice Imperial restored to how it came out of the factory. This one might end up in Europe as well. Not sure how costly it is to restore a car like this in the US, but over here it would be well north of $100K, people are paying $60K just for a paint job, a show car standard paint job around $100K, so restoring cars here is prohibitive unless one has deep pockets.
 
The paint on this one seems to have some decent shine left. Who knows what it looks like up close, but from what I see, the car doesn't require to be 'restored'.
Not for my palate, anyway.

The bumpers, grille, trim and all lenses all look very presentable, and doesn't seem to be any bubbling under the VT (except maybe the passenger's A-pillar?).
So I was merely thinking about rust repair and then painting it from the lower molding downward.
And any repairs for daily-reliable status, of course.

I'm not interested in any car that needs $15-20k of cosmetics.
