Just saw this for sale on FB in Maryland. Very few '71 two-doors left AFAIK. @fc7_plumcrazy @saforwardlook @cuda hunter

I still have two of these 1971 Coupes left so I think I have my hands full at this time. When RIP visited my asylum fairly recently he already expressed interest in at least one of them. I didn't have the heart to disappoint him about his usual offering price though.........................so he can still "live the dream". :poke:

Looks like Macho Man bodyslammed someone on the hood.
You know there's a story behind that! I'm guessing he was sitting outside of a high-rise with the subwoofers doing their thing, for awhile, at around 3:00 A:M. Which got on someones nerves, so they chucked a cinder block off of the balcony.

Whatever it was, luckily it missed the roof and windshield! The force seems to have been applied straight down, in one shot, with a healthy dose of gravity.

if it were local i'd make an offer on it. got to figure i'd make a good percentage back selling the wheels and tires. getting a running 2 door fuselage imperial for a net 2k-2.5k price wouldn't be bad.

are decklid and hood are unique to fusie imps ('69-'71) and no other sister C's? Do all first 3 years fusie Imp sheet metal interchange? Are there major electrical & mechanical issues, other than whatever is obviously going on with this carr, inherent in this year Imp? Anything major "unobtanium" on these cars?

Thanks for anyone's input

I expect the hood to be specific to Imperials as there are a few more inches of wheelbase and it is (AFAIK) all in the front.

One question to which I don't have the answer is whether the 2dr and 4dr hoods interchange. 4dr Imps from 1971 pop up from time to time as parts cars, 2drs almost never do.

Another question is, regardless, whether 1969-70-71 hoods interchange.

Finally, I'd want to see what the engine bay, the lower rear quarters, the trunk, and the trunk pan look like. Without photos of those, the buyer may be getting a previously repainted rust bucket (cue the decklid).

excellent input chief. Somebody will weign in hopefully with some answers.

:thankyou:

I bet the front clip, and consequently the hood is the same across the ’69 to ’71 Imperials, including both 2 doors, and 4 doors. The only differences being in the grille, and the shape of the cornering lights.

thanks.

any thoughts on the deck lid?

I wish this wasn't so far away, ( 800+ miles ) I'd take a serious

look at it.

I have everything needed to fix it.

There's got to be one closer...
A running, driving, stopping, 1971 Imperial two door for four grand, albeit a "little" rough around the edges, for sale closer to you in 2023? Slim chance. And you have the parts? You gotta get this!

You must be reading a different ad than I am.

1. It doesn't run, the ad says it ran until the fuel line went bad.
No running, driving or stopping until that part (and what else?) is fixed.

2. I would pay much more than $4000 and go a pretty good distance for a 1969-71 Imperial two door, in better condition, than the one being discussed here.

3. Yes, I have the parts.

4. Make mine triple black, please.

I asked all kinds of questions but I have not received any correspondence.
Maybe someone else will get lucky.
