NOT MINE 1971 Imperial in Union City Michigan 2500

Seller's description

1971 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron. Rare factory ModTop, with NOS ModTop replacement vinyl. 440 big block that runs strong. 727 transmission that shifts smooth and firm. New gas tank. Very little rust. Needs brake booster replaced or rebuilt, fuel pump (it works, but pumping fuel into crankcase) needs carburetor rebuilt. 2 instrument clusters with main harness. No rips, holes or tears in the interior. Headlight motor and doors work. I have some original historical paperwork for the vehicle. A real survivor of a car that has a ton of potential. Will need to be towed or trailered. $ 2500.

Is it one of those burgandy tops that has faded back to the original paisley top that was dyed over?

Josh this is @Clover ‘an explanation.
Paisley and it wasn’t supposed to show. If he has mod top material, it’s not right for the car. Last year for mod tops was ‘70. The maroon car was a special edition, with a maroon top that quickly faded, to expose the paisley pattern underneath. It didn’t show when they were new.

I hope the derby crowd doesn’t get this one. It needs to be saved.

At that price it will likely be cannibalized for its running gear and the rest parted out, or parted out and then smashed. And before someone comes back with the old 'buy it then' comment, give it a rest, I'm allowed an opinion.

Looks very interesting, yet for more than a week I’ll be still in Vietnam, and for some reason my stubborn Marketplace is set to Paris, France and it can’t be changed. Yes, I’m from Warsaw, Poland…

This LeBaron is a rare GM8 "Sparkling Burgundy" which is an Imperial-only, one-year-only color. Other than the dash face, it seems in surprisingly good shape. Even the rim blow wheel seems intact. @nitoh owns one of those in Germany and may be interested.
