1971 Plymouth Fury Custom

V1X compared to V01.

V02 (not on this car) is a vinyl roof area that is painted a specific color that is usually called out in the second line up left side as the color of the painted top. V02 is specific to the top of the car.

Wouldn't v01 be specific to the top as well (assumption)?
If not specific to the top, what is this v01 directed towards?

Is this discrepancy due to this being the Belvedere Illinois plant compared to the others?

V1X- Black vinyl top.

@The Rum Cove Am I seeing the roof as body color and the vinyl roof has been removed?
The entire car is in Metallic Gold and had a vinyl top which was removed many years ago, thank goodness. While I would love to spend a grand putting a paisley pattern vinyl top on it, the car doesn't warrant it. Instead I intend to do an interesting treatment with truck bed liner paint and stencils.
The car has a 360, but I am surprised you say it would have a 727 as opposed to 904 transmission as I thought 727's were exclusive to big block motors.

Once again, thanks for your input.

Don't quote me as I am not a mopar aficionado. Just a guy who reads sometimes.
Perhaps there is a 904 that has an upgraded parts list.
Anyone out there in the know?

Not a double code. I was mistaken. This has it's own reason and designation code.
So, V01 is just repeating the GY8 body color isn't to be changed?
Interesting double code there.
Ok, after going over multiple D Belvedere, Illinois plant trim tags I now understand a little more.
The v01 is on all tags as I can see so far. It pertains to the paint guys and has nothing to do with the vinyl top (as said by Eagles Nest).
Even if the car is a colored top (no vinyl), the tag still receives a V01 .
I have not found a Belvedere v02 yet.
V01 means one paint color.
V02 mean two paint colors.
Vinyl is not paint.

The Rum Cove, I would post pics of the tags to show all this but I don't want to pollute your thread on your sweet ride! If you want me to I will, but otherwise.
I learned something from your tag that I had not noticed before. thanks for posting it.

I am quite happy for you to 'pollute' my thread!
I am a Plymouth (mopar) guy but by no means an expert and am always happy to learn more.

Now, about replacing the drivers side rear passenger glass. Mine is busted out and I have found a replacement for it in a 69 at yard near me. Easy to do? Or a major pain?

RC

1969 Charger R/T Hamtramck built, no V01 because Charger was never available in two tone and only as monotone or vinyl top, no V01.

1970 Dodge Dart Los Angeles built, no V01, FY4 is the body color and roof color, the Dart was available as a two tone as well.

1970 Dodge Dart Windsor built, V02 and you can see it has two different paint codes.

1973 Plymouth Fury Belvidere built, no V01 and it is a vinyl top car.

1972 Plymouth Valiant Windsor built, no V01 and it is a vinyl top car. No V02, one color of paint.

Not a common option either.

A07- Turnpike package
Disc Brakes, Power Brakes, Automatic transmission(only), 2.45 or 2.76 Ratio axle, 383-1 2brl Engine, Undercoat w/ hood pad, Headlamp-on buzzer, Automatic Speed Control

D32- heavy duty transmission is a 727 and not a 904

A07 — nope, see above.

D32 — nope. Not true after 1970. If memory serves, all automatics are coded D32 starting in 1971.
