Could the steering wheel be original to the car? If not, I'll sell it.
Probably not. Most likely would have been this one, same as in post #11. Tuff wheel was most often seen on sportier models of b and e bodies.

G11- tinted all glass. Interesting that all the glass has been replaced
Looks to me like it has tinted glass. It is a light greenish color, not like the dark gray we call tint now. Get in the car and look out through the glass, then through the open door, you'll see the difference. Or in your second picture, looking at the truck tailgate beside the car, then through the car. I had a 70 Fury 3 convertible, drove me nuts with the top down, clear bright all around, and darker through the windshield. Particularly near dusk.

Vinyl has been removed. The chrome trim at the base of the c pillars and under rear window would not have been there if it did not have vinyl top
Regarding the tinted windows, I'm intrigued by the idea of having them but the car is wrapped and snow covered so it might be a while before I can check. The drivers side rear glass is busted out so intend to get to favorite yard in the spring and obtain another (having the tinted option might complicate things there). And the vinyl top? The sales lit for this mid year economy special suggest the roof was painted but mine had the black vinyl top removed a long time back thank goodness as we have seen the damage that can cause. I hope I'm not repeating myself here but I have a econo plan for the roof which should look interesting!
 
Not only did it come with a broadcast sheet as a document, I found another identical broadcast sheet in very poor condition behind the rear seat (which I know is where they are placed at the factory). The question, was it standard practice to furnish the buyer with two?

Looks like the first owner was Mr. Dennis Donahue, from 316 Carbon City Rd in Morganton NC. That information matches what can be found on the web. According to an old telephone directory, Mr. Donahue owned the Donahue Animal Clinic -- which might explain why the building at that address looks like a commercial one (see photo below).

Very cool, I hope I hear more about the build sheet since I'm not a code breaker. I have inspection stickers giving me owner number two and three. The guy I bought it off was a really nice fella. A hairy good ol' boy you might say. He carried a dog around in the back seat (the last dog that will ever ride in it as long as I own it!) so yeah, the car was in a pretty filthy state when I got it.
 
@The Rum Cove -- what I find especially interesting in your tag is the interior code. I see D2XA. XA means charcoal interior, which is clearly what I see here. But D2 is not an interior code that I see in the Plymouth sales brochures, and the paisley fabric that I see in your photos was not listed in the regular offerings:

Perhaps this is a specific code for a different/specific interior that was part of the A97 Special Package (discussed here; the same two codes (A97 and D2XA), but very very few other codes, are seen on PE21G1D235430 back in 2015 here)? Perhaps @69CoronetRT can chime in?

I'm sure there were many "Spring Specials, White Hat specials, regional specials, hey, let's make up a catchy thing because we need to move some more units specials," than I can think of. It wouldn't be unlikely for a run of similar cars with a non standard options grouping being made as a sales promotion.

The pattern on yours matches the front bench of the Fury ii:

But the code for the Fury ii cloth-and-vinyl bench would be L1XA -- yet the only XA code for a 1971 Fury ii was L2XA all-vinyl with a different pattern. That is why I am puzzled/interested in the D2XA / A97 question.

The Custom was a mid year economy special based on the Fury 1 and all had the paisley interior. All production figures are lumped in with the Fury 1 so I estimate around 3k sold. You can see the sales lit at www.fuselage.de
