Not planning on selling my coupe any time soon. But, you can bet the market will be down when the time does come. My motto "Buy hi, sell low" has always worked before. I do need to start thinning down my collection, 34 at last count, plus a dozen or so "parts" cars. But the '72 coupe will likely be part of my estate.

Vehicle Description​

Imperial LeBaron by Chrysler 1972 4 door hardtop sedan, V8 automatic 3 speed transmission. Attractive colors of a rich brown on the body and a white vinyl top. Impressive, clean body style with covered headlamps and fender skirts. This is a large and in charge executive rated car, with ample trunk and interior space, a survivor family car, kept garaged. It has very comfortable leather seats in good condition, original body paint,vinyl top, leather seats, and carpet..I have the driver's side door handle but do not have the fixture for the handle.The car is in above average condition and has 83,000 original miles, with current registration, tags, and inspection good thru December 2022. I have orginal title and 1972 Operations Manual for the car . Selling as is.

I'm not a fan of brown cars, but this one looks really nice, the interior is nice too.

I thought they hammered it sold at 42 from the internet, but I see the auction site now reads $44,000. If it was another internet bidder, with 14% buyer's fee, that makes it $50,160!
It makes us '72 owners pretty happy too.

Would be interesting to see what that black two-door of yours would bring at auction.

I think the bidder of this particular car from Elmer's Auction put a lot of the value of this particular Imperial into four areas

1. Original Paint Car -- huge to some people
2. Sunroof Car -- we all know how rare these are
3. Black Exterior & White Interior with a black vinyl top -- outstanding looking rig in anyone's book, especially if you're good at cleaning dark cars......
4. Elmer purchased this car brand new -- so it was also an original owner car.

Put these four things together -- and I did look at it and it sheet metal wise it was a great car with no rust in the hood or door pinch welds -- extremely nice original car -- but wow -- the new owner just wrote a check for $45,600 to Mecum for the privilege.

If you break down the cost of good labour and part costs, to get a car in that condition and you can't wind the miles back. So if it's your love car, it's a good buy.

I pretty sure it doesn´t.
The price is at first glance ridiculous. The estimate was 10k-15k which is pretty high for a 4 door BUT 1 owner, Tuxedo paint scheme, sunroof .. try find another one. You won´t, so the result is 2 guys with deep pockets battling over this car. And those guys will be highly likely guys from the US. Can´t imagine Europeans paying B body money for a C body 4 door

I'm in the same boat. I'm still trying to figure out the liquidation process for my wife if something happens to me and what will happen with my Imperials and my extensive pew-pew collection...

It may have a trunk full of Glocks in it, too. But, you guys can't have those anymore.
