Coding changed again in '76

It depends on the website that you look at mate, D34 on mostwebsites refers decodes to:
D34, ‘69-‘71,Light Duty Automatic Transmission

Then on others simply decodes as:
D34, TorqueFliteTrans
D34, 3-speed Auto HD
Perhaps someone can clarify….? Where’s MR. Govier when youneed him…..? Tsk tsk.

Anyway, enough of the nitpicking, sell the Newport and grab this machine man. It issimply right.

Police pkg with light or std. duty transmission didn't sound right, that's what I was trying to say.

Perhaps someone can clarify….? Where’s MR. Govier when youneed him…..?

On line decoders, generally, suck as they cannot distinguish the changes and nuances between years. they are a good start but often contain many mistakes.

This topic is the fender tag. 72-75 fender tags code D34 to signify an automatic transmission. The broadcast sheet will tell you which assembly the car actually received.

Stan 72-75 cop cars with 318s may have coded D35 for an HD transmission. I don't have enough on file to say that was true for all years.

Ok, response to my query to seller:

"I'm out of town but if you get me your email address I willshoot you some more pics when I get back. It's an old Sheriff car. It has therubber floor mat so most likely issue's there. The lower 1/4's and a couplespots on the rockers need some attention.
Neat car, hard to find the old Moparcop cars any more.

Take care"

Will follow up if I receive anything,,,,

Phrased my sentence wrong mate, I was being facetious and referring to all of us here, as I know how passionate we can be over every single element. Lol.
I get carried away when it comes to US cop cars, I want to then all saved ha ha! All good. [

Some of us read through it Aidan....

Damn you're all over this

Bloody hell, I need to proof read more, or my f'ing fingers can't keep up with my brain! That sentence should read:

"I get carried away when it comes to US cop cars, I want them all saved ha ha!".

What can I say, long days when you're building roads....

HMM may be the best magazine ever. I never read partiality and they cover a huge range of vehicles, many are of the big stuff, just the way we like them

The best one ever IMHO used to be Muscle Cars of the 60s/70s mag from Cars & Parts which also had a huge variety of cars from compact to Full Size. I gathered about all back issues over the time.
Unfortunately it was discontinued after a couple of years. The majority back then seemed to like the cheaper mags with more pics and less text. HMM may be the best mag that is still available though.

I'll agree, Hemmings is one of the best on the newsstand. I might even consider a subscription but I no longer make time to read the Mopar mags that I'm letting laps.

If you support print media than purchase it now before it goes away. I have saved every Hemming Musle and Collector car magazines. When I was growing up magazines like Popular Mechanics and Mechanics Illustrated were my window to the world and imanigation. I expect to retain, read and enjoy them again even if I have nothing else left later in life.

HMM is perfect to leave by the porcelain throne. Always the perfect time killer while answering the call of duty.
