I found blatant holes and cracks from body filler and patch panels falling off of it.

I guess that blows the statement "Super hard to find in untouched condition so much potential" riiiiight outta the water Ya Think?

So this FB statement '2nd chance offer" was for the latest eekBay auction right?

All I can say is thank goodness for you guys posting the feedback on this seller... so many hobbyists buy site unseen due to distance and time available to get cross country to look at a car they think they love.
Everyone should remember to be patient and ask questions on this site... it's a goldmine of info...thanks again, Dave

I have to wonder how he has achieved 100% feedback given all the negative input in this thread? It is a damn seductive wagon. Probably one of my favorite models of wagon and the colors are perfect for my taste. I would like it a lot more if it had power windows. I am also a little surprised that the firewall and underhood top of fenders seams are not more rusty given the comments on the lower parts of the body.

Well if you sort the feedback by the Feedback as a seller tab you will see that the last 2 sales (Hi-Priced) were over a year ago so the seller just does a lot of buying to pump up his feedback up to 100%. The seller did quite a bit of buying in the past 6 months to a year.

They use to have sellers on eekBay selling digital 1¢ items, use to be called "Penny Positives", it was just for the purpose of getting a positive for skewing you feedback back to 100%.
eBay did away with those sales & sellers.

A true and proper eBay seller of hi dollar items should have a sell only account and a separate buying account. None do that I have seen but this was the guidelines over a decade ago, and that having a sell only account will give you a more honest picture of a high dollar seller. Also you have to check "eBay Member User ID History" to see if they ended a account and re-registered under a different name.

There are many tools out on the net to decipher eBay feedback and find bad sellers that get around eBay's system.

But... isn't it the 'American Way' to cheat the system now right?

Sold a second time on Ebay this morning for $4650 with 13 bidders and 40 bids.

I would really have liked to lay eyes on that thing personally. A lot of what I am seeing underhood doesn't add up to it being that bad on the lower part of the body. But then, I don't have the joy of seeing a lot of Eastern cars very often.......................................thankfully.

Yea I just looked at the ad again and didn't pay attention to the end date.
But from the new text in auction and "last high bidder did not follow thru wasted my time beware of: " plus also "MO RESERVE" & "AS-IS SALE - NO EXCEPTIONS" & "additional pictures added" (sideways & upside down :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:).

We'll wait out this one again to see who is the moron in this sale, either the seller or buyer, 50/50 it could go either way, stranger things have been known to happen.
I'm putting my money on turbodaddy....

One of the previous observers of the car as noted above talked about blatant rust holes and bondo falling off, but I am not seeing them - do you? I do see body work down low though and mismatched paint. But why is the tail gate door opening so free of rust and the underhood as well. Something isn't adding up and I do wonder about just how bad this car really is. So a drive shaft is missing and the guy was misleading/lying about some things, but rebuilding a transmission or fixing a driveshaft or linkage issues isn't that expensive or difficult if that is what is needed. I would definitely like to hear more from the buyer of the vehicle.

Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part, but one thing is certain - that wagon looked stunning when new!

Well with a quick run through of the h-res eBay (NEW) pictures I saw mostly a moldy grungy interior, some storage rust on the engine bay that looks to me like it's been near a Oceanside climate, odd color change/shift in the wood grain and lower body paint, heck I'll just download all the pics and straighten them out and y'all can judge. hold on.

I am used to seeing more than a/c compressor and associated lines showing corrosion, but I am not seeing firewall and upper inner front fenders seams under the hood that aren't also pretty rusty, not the rear tail gate opening down low, nor the "blatant holes and cracks from body filler and patch panels falling off of it"??? Did the seller do some patching since that person saw the car? There is definitely body work down low, though, that is certain. That is all I am saying. I saw all the latest photos, but I appreciate your posting them for posterity.

I am hopeful for the buyer's sake (and the future of the car) it is better than initially portrayed.

OK got them all straighten out so us old folks don't have to stand on our heads.
I wonder if this guy speaks as bad as he spells, prob does being from pencilnecktucky.

A few dups that I'll weed out. Brags about rust free underside but not one pic. SMH.

The RR door down low is odd, go to eBay and launch the big picture into a new tab and copy the image, throw it into a paint program and enlarge the image for a better view. Odd ball lower panel paint equals barnyard body repair IMO. I can't understand the woodgrain either, I can see weathering but it isn't consistent especially on the LR, odd. Looks like that woodgrain has been replaced sometime in it's life (long ago accident damage?)

(edit) I take that back, it's the fender & doors that look newer (less weathered) than the rear section.

The dash pad, door panels, steering wheel and other interior bits suggest that car didn't sit out side much either like one of the initial commenters claimed either. The amateur lower body work was clear without blowing up the photos I thought.

Given all the bidders/bids, I just hope it ended up with someone with the means and moxie to make it new again. It deserves that.
