You are being too kind...more likely the usual case of C/E Body heart transplant.

that would be the whoever was left with it either sold the engine separately or kept if for something else part emoticonbigsmile.gif

Please no more resto-mods. Put a BB in there and be done with it.

I disagree, originality is shot, 73 is not a omg year, Hemi and EFI and 5 speed auto improves a car that has ho hum performance. After you get the car running add a super charger like you can to a late model charger or challenger which are only about 500 ibs lighter than a c body of this vintage now if you follow the factory gearing and overall tire diameter you can easily have high 12 second time slips from a car nobody is looking twice at. Especially the B & E body crowd that we love to hate and is responsible for a lot of these cars getting gutting, kind of a sweet revenge, not everyones cup of tea but what the hell something to talk about.

I'll bet someone had the engine out getting refreshed or something and was almost done with the car and died

and whoever was left with it either sold the engine seperately or kept if for something else

The car is complete minus the engine. The torque converter was scrapped because it had a leaking weld. The engine was wounded internally and is not available. I have a picture of the empty engine bay on the Craigslist ad. If you need additional photos, I can get some and e-mail them to you. Thanks for your interest.

I do see your point but I just think your bang for the buck is better dropping in a modestly built 440 with gears and embarrassing some uppity Mustangs and Camaros at the light.

What's the back story barnfind? How long have you had it and why are you selling instead of putting another engine in it and keeping it?

Not mine, I just inquired , the above post is from the seller. I've asked for more photos and details. I hope someone pics it up and puts it back right

Response from the seller on this one

Sorry to get back to you so late. I also had two local guys looking at the New Yorker and one committed to it on Saturday. I was going to send you the photos, but I guess that's not necessary now. Thanks anyway for your interest.
