This car doesn't even know rain the way it looks on the underside. Probably still has the first wiper blades. :)

So someone please tell me, Why is the right rear tire 3/4" closer to the wheel lip than the left rear tire?

Hi Dave,

it is the same on all our Mopars.
The drivetrain in an old Mopar is never exactly in the center of the car. It is always closer to the passenger side.
You usually only notice it if you go for wide tires because then the passenger side is noticeably closer to the wheellip.
Check it on your Polara it will be the same even though there is lots of space in the wheelhouse

Carsten

That goes for about any mass produced car of that era, especially solid axles.

Well thats why I am asking, never noticed it and it doesnt appear to measure that way on my 70 and 71

A little late to the party, but congrats to your dad Dave! Beautiful car! Hope he enjoys the hell out of it! I think it needs some road wheels though IMHO....... :poke:

x2............but it does look nice with new wheels.

I tried for road wheels but he likes these. Besides, find a good set of road wheels, right now.

Especially after I got a set of 4 complete road wheels for $200 sans the one center cap. I could use a better set of trim rings.

I just put the other two that I didnt send to Will up in the rafters.......... I must have 4 used sets up there and a NOS set... I have no idea what I have

it is the same on yours. Measure it again but consider you have huge distances in your wheelhouse with thinner tires.

Measured from the tire to the wheel lip and it was the same distance. On the 73 there is a 3/4" difference
