The only storefront vehicle title service I know of in FL is in Tampa. I've not dealt with them yet. Everything else is county tax collector's office. I know they did di a major overhaul on their titling procedures 10 ish years ago and have been tweeking ever since. There was no way to get a title for a car without a lawyer and a judge until recently they now will do a "bonded" title for an out of state car without a title. Still a PITA, but its something. FL has had a half assed system IMO since I first came here in 1991. Many states changed titling rules in response to federal pressure to stop fraudulent titles after Katrina cars showed up everywhere with "washed" titles. FL never required the seller to be present, so lots of "open titles" floating around out there. I hate to walk away from a otherwise good car because IDK if I can make it legal... and I seem to be the only one who gets stuck, but I get stuck. Remember, I don't flip my problems.... I try to always deal fair and honest... hate to piss away money on BS like additional paperwork.
