All,

I am putting my brown 4 door 78 New Yorker 440 up for sale. It has 31,xxx original miles.
VIN: CS43T8C150067

What I've done:
Repaired wiring (mice had gotten into it)
Replaced fuel tank (sat at dealership for 4 years without moving)
Replaced valve cover gaskets
Replaced starter
Replaced the Lean Burn System with the kit from Summit

What needs done:
Radiator replacement/coolant system clean-out.
No spare tire came with car, needs one.
No Cruise control (haven't checked fuse yet)
No FM stations come across radio, will need a new unit I believe.
The drivers window no longer rolls down. The motor still turns and makes noise, but the window doesn't move. All other windows are fine.
The headliner is being held up by needles, doesn't bother me but may bother someone else.
The car doesn't idle that great, but it doesn't die either. May need a carb adjustment.
A/C is not cold, may need charged up.

The car does overheat, but never severely. I believe that a radiator replacement and coolant flush/clean out will fix this issue. I currently drive the car 3 miles to work so it doesn't even have time to heat up. I will end up replacing the radiator myself when I finally get the car back to my shop. (150 miles away from me now).

The reason I am selling is because I will be moving 50 miles from my work. I need a car that gets better mileage to be driving 100 miles R/T a day! I do not want to sell this car, I love the way it rides and feels. With a few of the above repairs, and a couple touch up spots on paint, this thing could look amazing. I just don't have the time/money/or location to fix this how I want.

Please email cole.mckinnon@fabickcat.com or text 618-967-4315 for more info.

Asking $4200, negotiable

That is.. one. Spanish Gold metallic beauty. You should keep it. Trust me, if you let her go you will probably regret it.....

Very nice looking car.
Trouble is, a perfect car will just barely get that amount of money.
Fix everything up first or you should drop the price considerably.

Radiator replacement/coolant system clean-out. $500 (new radiator+
No spare tire came with car, needs one. $50
No Cruise control (haven't checked fuse yet) $150 (servo)
No FM stations come across radio, will need a new unit I believe. $150+
The drivers window no longer rolls down. The motor still turns and makes noise, but the window doesn't move. All other windows are fine. $75 (motor - gear worn)
The headliner is being held up by needles, doesn't bother me but may bother someone else. ~$250
The car doesn't idle that great, but it doesn't die either. May need a carb adjustment. $300 (new carb)
A/C is not cold, may need charged up. $350-1,000 new hoses and conversion at min.)
plus, plus, plus....
JMHO.

As Stan pointed out though, this car isn't a prestine car... Coolant system is getting checked tonight at a repair shop so hopefully that takes care of overheating.

I don't wanna let it go, which is why I'm asking a bit North of value at the moment.

This car is sold. New owners will have it stored and cared for far better than I could have! It's in good hands

Congrats Mckinnon and thanks for coming back to let Stan know after a year and a half .. nice presence of mind in the time of your ultimate success

Well, I figured I would let the admins clean up or remove the thread... But Stan was correct... I almost had to cut price in half.

I used to drive it all the time around STL when I lived 2 miles from work. Loved it... but now I have a 49 mile 1 way commute... couldn't handle the fuel bill, so the car just sat. But it's in good hands now!

Also, cooling system was never bad. After sinking $500 into it, I found out it was the gauge in the dash.
