Yes they are! Same thing with the 318 4bbl. I have a nice, low-mile 360 to go in mine some day.
Drop a 440 4bbl and a 9.25 and you'd you'd have a luxo sleeper version of this: That's what I'll do if I get one.

Say WHAT?

According to my "Standard Catalog of Chrysler" book, the 318 2bbl was standard and the 4bbl was an option in 1981. 130 HP vs 165 HP, which is a pretty big difference. It's a computer "assisted" Thermoquad if I remember correctly. During the couple years that I drove it regularly, I never had to do any driveability-related repairs, so there was no need to study what was in there making it go. Unfortunately, something in the engine or trans is out of whack, because it has a very annoying vibration to it.
 
When I looked into this I was looking hard at a Frank (another aluminum bumper car) and I passed on it because the bumpers were bad and nobody would fix it. I really like the ALSA product video. That looks amazing! I would do that to the bumpers on this 81 in a heartbeat. Is this something that can be done at home? Very cool.

It's been years since I looked at all their videos, but I believe the one I posted is for the DIY version, and there was also a system for commercial use for around $16K.
 
If I remember correctly, at least on the '79's, the little window was illuminated so that the etched "Fifth Ave" lettering would glow. Don't know if they kept that feature through the entire run.
