How come the fender tag is a different color or has aged differently than the rest of the rad support?

I think my 40% figure is pretty accurate. Which is extremely high for any car. It's based on recorded VIN's of known cars and cars that have been on market in the last 20 years. Many cars recorded have come up for sale a number of times in the last 20 years.
Of the 40% that have survived, most are still unrestored project cars or parts cars.
Known examples of original cars, and restored cars are rare.
I thought the same thing, but I zoomed in and looked at it very carefully. It's the same. How come the fender tag is a different color or has aged differently than the rest of the rad support?

It is extremely high. I've been doing these C body/ Mopar message boards for 20 years and I've seen a lot of Hurst cars over those 20. Even the newer guys to the boards mock the commonality of the Hurst cars.
I presume it could be the same fifteen cars over and over again. I personally do not pay attention to the numbers on these all that much.
Man many years ago I wanted one. Over time they've lost their luster to me
The top of the radiator support should be white to match the car. Unless that was standard for the Hurst cars, it doesn't surprise me that the tag was painted too. You want to match the VIN with the rest of the car.How come the fender tag is a different color or has aged differently than the rest of the rad support?

Not that really matters but I was thinking more on the lines that the fender tag is actually from a different car. That thing is painted gloss black while the rest of the rad support is old, dusty, rusty and grayish and shows its age.The top of the radiator support should be white to match the car.
