He says the engine has been rebuilt less than a 1000 miles ago, but this looks as if it has never been touched. Old wires, dirt, grease, and everybody has to put on a fresh coat of rattle can paint on the air cleaner!

I know we have seen this one before. The Alaska plate is stuck in my mind. I can't find it in the 3 pages of 300 Hurst for sale threads.

I doubt that car has 1000 miles on in anytime in the last 20 years + but it might have had 1000 miles put on it after it was rebuilt and before it was put away. The engine might have been rebuilt given the relatively intact paint on the valve covers, but after a lot of years and a humid storage environment since it was put away, that is probably why it looks so bad under the hood.

The pictures date from September 2015 and the car still for sale

ten years ago I was puzzled of the low production numbers and the amount for sale. Since FCBOs inception and the posting of ads on this board I have been absolutely blown away at the number of 300 Hurst cars that have survived and are for sale.... And to think I wanted one 20 years ago

Original car looks pretty saveable. Hell looks better then my fusey lol. I still want one of these.. but they have fallen pretty far off the top of the have to have list over the years.

This is the third Hurst I've seen with the rare factory add on struts. I saw one in person at Moparfest one year, the other 2 online. The Hursts developed a problem, soon after delivery, of the rear spoiler sagging in the middle. This generated enough complaints that Chrysler made a kit with 2 add on struts to prop up the spoiler. The struts were added at dealerships.
I have also seen a home made single strut affair that was not factory and looked terrible.

Here's the other pic I was able to find showing the factory strut kit:

The cost to restore this car would go beyond the value of it when finished. And that doesn't include the cost to purchase it.
Like early Cadillac convertibles, best to buy one done.
