Got the call from the machine shop yesterday, drove out there and picked up the 413. They said it was in really good shape so I was able to use the chromemolly rings. And now it begins.

That's great, keep the updates coming.

No I didn't have my head redone. Im just putting heavier valve springs in to accommodate the cam. Eventually I'd like to find a set of 915 close chambered heads. Those will be ported, polished and have a valve job . That's a ways away tho.

Thanks Matt I sure will! There's a highly regarded machine shop in owasso mi called reichart engines. Mopar specialists . More trophys in the place than I care to count. They did great work!

Twenty five years ago my '59 Imperial 413 was rebuilt at the machine shop. The car continually used oil to excess (approx 500 miles to a quart). After tracking it fr several thouand of miles and seasons of use they had me pull the engine. The chrome molly rings never seated properly. New different rings were used and it corrected the oil consumption problem.

Oh how I love the horror story's just before I'm putting it together! Well they are already bought and there's no coin for any others, so in they go! Cross your fingers for me!

Didn't have a lot of time today but I manage to get the crank and mains installed today. Hopefully get the rest of the rotating assembly in tomorrow .

One more nail !!! Rotating assembly is in. Most of my finger tips have nice little slices in them. Those rings can be a oil sharp!!

Plasti gauged the rods and mains. .015 on the rods. I don't remember what the mains were, wasn't far off tho.

Ya!! Shes only got 1/64 of play in the rods!! It'll be fine! 1/4 for the mains, a lil noisy but fine lol..
