OK, now my memory is being taxed! I think - think - the longer rod was the longer one, going down to the transmission.

That’s what I think too. The 440 is taller than the 383, so makes since. Not a collector. So not wanting to pay 120 for one to cut and weld to work. Sorry, good deal to a collector though. I’ll either find one at a junk yard or do a local cable. Thanks
