Hello. Just wanted to introduce myself here as a new owner of this Chrysler 300 1966 440 TNT in Slovakia. I was wondering, if anyone knows how many of these were made with a 440 TNT? Most of these I have seen have a 383 engine. Could not find this info anywhere. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum! This is definitely one of the places to be for c-body owners!

I'm not aware of a break-down on engine production, but I'd love to proven wrong. I have a '68 300 factory TNT car and would also like to know how many were built. I know it's a relatively low percentage. If I was to take an educated guess, I'd say less than 10% and likely closer to 5%.

Welcome!

Please understand that the 1966 440 TNT was upgraded for 1967 and later model years.

The original 440 TNT was named for "dual snorkel" air cleaner and "dual exhaust", but still had the normal 440 256/260 cam, normal exh manifolds, and normal 1.60" exh valves. As in "Twin snorkels" 'N "Twin pipes".

The 440 TNTs in 1967 and later had the upgraded 440 HP cam (new that year) and 1.74" exhaust valves, with the also new 440HP upswept exhaust manifolds. WITH the trademark dual snorkel air cleaner and factory dual exhausts.

The 440 TNT option was not specific to 300s, but could be ordered on other Chryslers, including Town & Country wagons.

Enjoy!

Welcome. Nice car.

As no factory records have been published, there is no credible way to know the answer to that question.

Any attempt to do so is simply guessing with no factual basis.

the TNT was offered in wagons in 1966, but after that the the optional 440 was not a TNT but did have the dual snorkel air filter and dual exhaust up to and inc 1970. this is why people think 67 on wagons had TNTs.
the 71 440 wagons still had the dual snorkel but with single exhaust.
in 1972 & 73 the 440 came with a single snorkel & single exhaust.
in 73 the 440 was standard
