I pulled Goldie out of her dry storage of 32 years, 5 years ago today. I can't believe 1 car could change my life so much.

Congrats on your anniversary! It is amazing how quickly the time flies. Earlier this year I went to replace the tires on my Plymouth. I had put them on soon after I bought the car and knew they were getting old. I was shocked when the tire shop told me they were now a good eleven years old! I would have said something like 5 or 6, no more than 10. lol

It opened the door to meet all of us....

Totally true. I would have never gone to Carlisle without this car and then finding this group. Nice group of like minded fellows.

I have been on several car forums over the years. This is the only one I am interested and involved in any more, and the c-bodies are the only car I'm honestly interested in restoring too.

Totally true x2

I've been to Carlisle many, many times before joining FCBO and looked at your cars and had a conversation or two not really knowing who you were before meeting many of you on FCBO.

Great cars will do that to you.
Has anyone asked you if you bought the car new yet?

That's too funny, I had a kid in the drive through at Wendy's just drooling all over it. Asked what it was?..didn't know they make 300's that long ago... what year is it?...66...and then "Did you buy it new came?" I was born in 1966.

I didn't get offended he was a teenager. Anyone over 30 to him is old.

I have shared this at various times over the years. This is how I found it 2 weeks prior to picking it up. Diamond it the rough. :)

Saved the 300.fcbo.jpg

But he seemed genuinely interested right? That's the big deal!

So, Mike what drew you to the 300?

Long story short circumstance. I had just recently discovered I really enjoy working on cars. I already had a heated shop and was looking for a project, when the 300 fell in my lap.

The PO was my cousin's father in-law, he got an ultimatum to clean out the garage. I had heard about the car over the years. When I went and looked at it I thought this is it, but I was a total c-body virgin. Honestly never set eyes on a 66 300, that I recall.

Negotiated a price, I painted his house, and the rest is history.
