61 Fury Restoration

Steph... Thank you for updating your profile... it's been getting annoying watching everyone think you're a fella. I wasn't going to set them straight if you weren't... but it was getting old.

According to this website, your tire size was 7.5x14 Bias Ply:
Classic Car Specifications, Engine, Wheelbase, production numbers, VIN numbers for Antique Cars, Classic Cars, Vintage Cars and Muscle Cars
And according to this forum:
Tire size - '59 Plymouth Forum
you can either use a 205/75R14 or a 215/75R14 tire, up to you, but I would agree with the fellow using the 215/75R14 when he recommends using Diamondback white walls as they are vulcanised onto the sidewall with a separator layer between tire and whitewall which prevents bleed-through browning:

Happy motoring with your Fury.

I have radial tires on the car and thin white walls look awful
on a 1961 plymouth and I am sure some folks here will agree with me.

Well Steph ........ "crap" is a little strong, but WWW's are the perfered.
If I had the cash I would buy a set of those www tires for my '61 then I would take the car in to a tire store have them mounted and balanced and then have nitrogen put in the tires in stead of regular air. I am comparing prices right now and go to the 1 who has the best deal
More work was done on the car sanding and adding more bondo

Best to remove the wheels yourself and take them to be serviced, then reinstall the wheel/tire assy yourself.
I never trust the gorilla's at a tire shop to correctly use an impact with 125lbs of pressure behind it, and, who don't understand the concept of left hand threaded lug nuts.

My dad used to be in the tire business. He knows a place in Anderson and has done business with them and I have also and never had a problem . I will not use regular air it will be nitrogen and with this the tire pressure stays the same , tires stay cooler , you get better fuel economy . You Might lose 1 lb a year and that is it. I took my other '61 down there because I had a tire out balance it was discovered when my dad drove it from the invitation only car show at were Road to the Horse was held at in Franklin, TN. I took the car down to Woody's tire and I had them balance all the tires . Only 1 needed it but I had all of the tires checked to be sure .

video

Videos in stead of photos There has not been that much work done on the car when there is no work on the car there is no photos . The 1st part is over 2 min and the second is almost a minuite

I am sorry I have not been posting lately. I have been very busy these days I did take more photos . The passenger rear fender should be ready to be primed. This has been a long road for my dad and myself. I hope 1 of these days to to a live video of the car on you tube but when I am in the garage I have no cell service and I do not know why. I guess I will need to wait until the car is done and I will have some one do a video of me driving the car on my cell phone

I do not plan to take to 1 of those shops. My dad has done business with a tire shop down in Anderson called woodys and he also knows the owner . He has done alright with us so far. I also do believe I have told you my dad was in the tire business. I miss those days

The pictures alone have been great. Keep them coming.
When there is more work is done I will post more photos . I usually check and can tell when work done . When it is I take photos and upload them on the computer and post them here

Nice... getting any closer to paint? Not that I'm complaining, I love watching her come together.

My trunk cardboard kit came today. I will not take it out of the box until I am ready to have it installed
The work on the passenger front fender has started. The rusted part was cut out the new patch was fabricated and welded on and then some grinding was done
