65 Sport Fury 383 Power Steering Pump

So did we ever establish which pump he needs? Saginaw or TRW or Federal? I have quite a few, and remember taking a couple to a company called Steering Solutions here in BC, they rebuilt them for about $135.00 apiece. I might have one if you know what you need. PM me with a photo.
I will take a pic this weekend and see if you have one. Much appreciated!

So my power steering pump is made like this, with the made to the reservoir connector beside the fill hole. Seems specific to 65-66 models

Sorry, took a look and mine are all bottom tubes. Look around for a steering shop, they could probably rebuild yours for reasonable $. Better than the alternative. CamShaft

No problem . Appreciate you looking

I just had my badly leaking pump for the 1966 T&C rebuilt by Lares in Cambridge Minnesota. Quoted $300 but my pump was scored and blue (they sent it to prove it), they suggested a new rebuilt for $700 which I did. What they sent looks new. I kept the little screen filter and cap from my original one.

I don't know the application difference in location of the return fitting, but IIRC some take a much larger hose (~5/8") and newer ones of this style take an 11/32" hose (just under 3/8"). My 65s have the huge hose, my 68 has the smaller.
If I were in a bind, I'd take what I could find if all else was suitable.
Might require to swap the return fitting on the PS gearbox (but don't swap the whole valve to do this!)

IMHO the 11/32" hose looks better-engineered. The bigger hose looks not-well-thought-out, it's like a piece of heater hose FCOL!
And perhaps it was to hold a little higher pressure, to be able to push the return fluid that seems to return to the reservoir below the fluid-fill line?
Because it seems both of those changes happened at the same time?

Has anyone had any luck fitting an aftermarket PS pump to a 65 Sport Fury? Looking for a functional alternative that isn't $700!
