So like any other day, I pushed the pedal to the floor to activate the choke, and to my dismay, I'm now stuck at wide open throttle. Everything under the hood looks right, but the pedal sticks to the floor. I can force it back with the linkage under the hood. Looking at the back of the pedal, it looks like there is some chewed up spring connected to the cable. Anybody know what's going on? Can't drive it as is.

Well that makes sense. Should be an easy enough job, right? Would it be something available from the regular parts store?

Rexus is likely correct and the only other option I know of would be from a company called Lokar. They make aftermarket parts for all the hot rodders and customizers but would probably have something that would work. May not appear stock though...

There is a classic car wrecking yard close by, I'm sure they'd have something that'd work. I'll call them.

Hope you love billet.....
I didn't say it was something I'd buy but if you can't drive the car something from them would work till you found a good used one.

I've got this one from 68 New Yorker and it works like new. I would think it'd be the same and I'd sell just the cable for $15 + shipping.

I don't have my '66 with me, still at upholstery or I would chime in. Not planning on seeing it until next week at the earliest. PM if you want me to compare next weekend.

I ended up making my own replacement cable in the mean time, but I think detmat's would work for me too. I used some cabling like the original, drilled two screws so the cable would slip through each end, and clamped the ends down with a nut. Works like a charm for a band aid, and no more binding.

Just be careful and ready to reach for the key in an emergency!
