I need to drop the gas tank on my 66 Fury and maybe replace or restore. I wish I could find one that was not offset and centered along with a centered filler tube so I can have equal room on each side to run new dual exhuast.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I have an almost new clean 65-66 C body gas tank for sale complete with a new sending unit.

Decided to take the tank to the ol' radiator shop and let them "boil" it out plus he's gonna apply "red kote" to the inside. He said it would be better than brand new when he's finished.

How does a gas tank get restored?

I took my tank to the local rad shop to get "restored" This place is under new ownership. The tank was pretty grungy but far from the worst I've seen. The owner boiled the tank he said and so I wanted to go see how it came out. Right way I didnt see much change inside or out except a hole that...

Thought I needed a new sending unit for my 66 windsor

Took the tank to the rad shop to get boiled and coated. I was gonna try to save the sending unit but I think the resistor is shot. I see some on rock auto but they dont quite match. Any advice please? the tank has 2 vent outlets too if that counts. thanks
