Hey all! Have a 66 Newport I'm planning to redo the rear drum brakes on. Is there any way to tell the shoe size without taking them apart? I know they came with different sizes, so unsure of what is correct to order. Any help is appreciated. Thank You!

You must pull one Rear Brake Drum --- N O Brake Drum Puller Required....

90 % plus of a Chrysler had 11 " x 2 1 / 2 " Rear Brake Shoes ( 2 1 /2 " is the Brake Shoe width )

Less than 10 % of a Chrysler had 11 " x 2 " Rear Brake Shoes ( 2 " is the Brake Shoe width )

You should just pull the rear drum and measure the width, that way you know the correct size as noted. As noted, some Canadian produced cars had 11' x 2" rear brakes, most of the rest were 11" x 2.5". The best way to know for sure is to visually check. Measure the shoe, not the drum.
