66 Newport Turn Signal Switch

Anyone have any suggestions here.............I bought a new turn signal switch for my 66 Newport from Rockauto. The signal lever doesn't fit into the slots on the back side but i'm wondering if they are made this way now or do I need to modify it to fit? I sent a switch back already hoping this was just a fluke but if the second one arrives and it fits the same way, i'm not sure if I should even keep it and try to modify or look somewhere else. Does anyone know where I may be able to find a better fitting switch?

I bought a TS switch from Rock Auto for my '68 a couple years ago and the arm fit fine, it didn't have a mismatch like yours. It looks to be a different part number than the '66 switch though.

Bummer, but if the second one comes and it's identical, it shouldn't be too bad to add in a channel to get it to sit flush with a dremel and a cutoff wheel.
