My advice is to get your original rebuilt by a trusted rebuilder like Booster Dewey or a good local rebuilder. The parts store replacements are usually incorrect and are often no good right out of the box.

Good correct replacements are tough to find, and no correct repops are out there that I see (B body repops with too small a diametre).

Thats what i think imma have to do. Might try to rebuild it rebuild it myself as i have have fixed the ones in my 81 and 85 dodge pickups. Ill do some research on that Booster Dewey though Thanks!

The clamp-band style drum brake boosters are easier to rebuild than the disc ones... those have like 30 bend tabs to lock the two halves together.

Booster Dewey gets great reviews.

I was just on his website and for what he quotes for a rebuild ill give him a call Monday! Thanks!

I sent my 68 booster to him should be back Monday. It was 3 weeks with the re-plating. I think he said about a week if you don’t want it plated. Sent the master cylinder cap in to replate with the booster for an extra $10 or $15.

Disc booster? The 65-68 disc booster was originally semi-gloss black. The reman industry paints them incorrectly in pebble-tone grey.

I think the clamp-band style drum boosters were cad plated.

No I have drums all around so have the midland Ross band style. Yes cad plated. You are correct all the parts shop remains are gray. Before picture. Actually not too bad of shape, booster needed refreshing, so figured I would have it plated as well.
