That’s a 383 for sure.

A 440 has a raised pad of iron left of the distributor hold down (right in this photo). If it had AC, the compressor would hide it. This is a B (low-deck vs. raised deck) engine. It's a 361, 383 or even a smogger 400 with nifty orange overspray on the distributor (good for 5 HP).

I don't know Matt. . . There is a big flat pad there to the right of the water neck, and it looks like the pad where a '440' stamp would appear. I don't think the 383 has a pad like that. I'll hafta look at mine tonight.

Nevermind. . . I think that flat place I see is on the top of the front cover and not on the block. Yes. Its a B-engine.

Any chance Canadadian production would be different as far as 440 standard equipment? The engine looked red to me at first glance. We sometimes had different choices here for equipment. IE a 65 Monaco in the US wasn't available with a 413 4 spd but it was in Canada.

Also there were lots of instances where lesser options from standard could be substituted as no additional cost options.

The 1966 300's came standard with a 383.

I am surprised that nobody has commented on the very sought after wheels that are on the car. Those are selling for big dollars these days if they are in good shape.

Had them on my 68 Monaco 500 a few years back then switched to Road Wheels. Those wheels looked good on the Miradas.

I started that trend 14 years ago.....

Rob Brogle fell in love with those wheels to the point he met me in Joisey back in June 2017 and i got them polished for him in my home town in Canuckville. Then we met again in Syracuse February 2018 to retrieve them. They are going on his 68 NYer similar to mine.

Beautiful car...even with the B motor. I especially really like the white and red pinstripe on the blue...very much in keeping with the red white blue 300 motif. The Mirada wheels are stunning on it too.

Hey, not to twist the thread but is Brogle on FCBO or is he a Facebook only sort? We work in the same circles but I haven't really heard from him since I ditched Facebook 6 months ago.

GJS, Rob is not on FCBO. He used to be on the C Body Dry Dock but he currently seams to be primarily on several FB forums (and I have very little time for FB). Rob & I have been friends for 15+ years. He works a ton of hours and is active with the Trolley museum so don't feel bad that you have not heard from him. I left him a message about 2 months ago and have not heard back from him.

Nah, I don't feel bad. He's a real great dude, though! I met him when I was still on FB and it turned out he worked for a company the place I work for does a lot of business with. He lent me a tool when I was pulling my harmonic balancer on my 67 and I've still not gotten it back to him!

Anyway, I just shot him an email to see how he was doing. Us New England folk should get our rears in gear and cruise this summer!

GJS, He may be at the MOPARS IN MOTION show at Papa's Dodge on May 20th. If he does not show there and you go, you can always give it me and I can get it to him.

Ha! I know where that is... Did you get a burger at Zeb's while you were there?

Cool, man. I'll be sans Monaco for that one as she won't be registered till late July but I'll try and make it down for the show.

Thanks!
