68 Fury III Resurrection in MA

Just finished reading the whole thread, what a great looking car and exciting project! Congratulations on saving this Fury... now I need an update!!!
Thanks - slow go. That’s a lesson learned. Take the time to enjoy it, prioritize everything family and the things that need to get done around the house, and everyone stays happy. LOL.

Fireplace project underway getting ready for a new fireplace insert. Covid struck the household at the same time. So far …projects on hold for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, car is ready to swap frames. Hopefully a warm weekend (above 32) will come by and I can pull things out to make room and make a swap. Stay tuned.

BTW - welcome to FCBO From Milford. Lot of great information, resources, insight and projects here. A lot of opinion too, but that’s part of learning.

Finally…. Stars aligned, no client calls, no “hey dad can you take me to…”, and a few hours of some classic rock on the radio.. and the engine come out of the 68 Fury III. Will strip it of accessories and deliver to a local machine shop for some TLC.

Next will also have the tranny looked at and also be swapping the stub frame. A refurbished one with a new suspension is ready and waiting in the shed.

Meantime.. will clean and tag parts removed and re-organize my tools so I can jump in again.

Happy Independence Day!

So, today I sold my 68 Fury III, 2 door hardtop with a 318ci and 727 TF auto. Not something I wanted to do (selling it) but needed to.

On the positive side, I sold it to a great father & son team out of NJ. They drove the 5 hours to Milford and picked up the whole package. Dad is familiar with B and E bodies. He has already restored a 70 Cuda, and in the midst of installing a hellcat into a 68 Charger. The rebuilt 440 originally going in the Charger will now go into the Fury. The best part is that this is his son’s project who has been wrenching alongside with dad. We loaded up the car, stub frame, and misc parts onto the truck during a passing thunderstorm. Paperwork completed, exchanged, and shared with them the original bill of sales, historical documentation of its registration, and shook hands.

For me, bittersweet. Restored a stub frame, suspension parts, calipers, gathered parts and metal work, learned a ton about C-Bodies. I will Let the dust settle, deal with things here, and eventually get back into another one.

The new owners are on FBBO, will join FCBO, and keep us posted on their project. I look forward to following thier progress

Best of luck Paul and Justin.

I hated to see your project posted for sale! You put a lot of great work into it! I hope you're able to get back to another one soon!

Happy you found a father son team to take on the project, as my father has helped me a lot with my project.
