Anybody know the background on this one? seems to sit up in the back for some reason. Any guess on what it would go for?

Thanks

Dale

seriously, Commando? I know you joke a lot...
No, this one I am dead serious about.
This insanity is unsustainable.
People are stupid. Stupidity is the root of greed. Greed makes it impossible to look past lunch time let alone years down the road.
Plus the world is coming to an end soon, anyway.

ok, so you're thinking that it's basically a bubble, that supply will outweigh demand (including overseas?) just trying to clarify, or perhaps your point is "who can say?" sorry for the bother, but I know you know your stuff....

Can't have a burst bubble, without the bubble. Not a single C has sold for stupid money yet, except to a flipper who wants even more stupid money.

thanks, sir, may I get your rough opinion on what this car may go for?

A sale with stupid money to a flipper is still a sale.
Who the assh buyer is is irrelevant.
When the flippers eventually bail, that is the bubble bursting.

There are some strange things about this one. Two things standout for me, the tail end height, which you've already flagged and the top doesn't look right, notably the snaps around the trim for the parade boot (snaps were stopped in 1968). Upgrade to electronic ignition, engine compartment refresh (is this numbers matching?) and that idiotic dual air breather makes me wonder about the competence of the person doing the work. Although it is pretty, all of these things tell me to walk the other way. If you are close it's still worth a visual inspection. As for what it will go for, hard to tell. Can't see the international collectors going for it (see my comments above) they like originality, and the US market isn't ready to spend. Put a proxy bid in for $3500, anything north of that for this one is a fools errand. If you win, prepare to spend some cash getting it right.

I saw this car too. All in all, I think its had some competent work done to it (except for the goofy air cleaner on top of the Holley carb and the incorrect upholstery). Some little things I noticed: It has a proper molded upper radiator hose and radiator cap, HP exhaust manifolds and a pretty decent looking engine compartment. As regards the car's stance: It may be the front torsion bars are set a little low, and rear springs are recently new or re-arched. If the car is really as nice as it appears to be, I think it could go for between 10 and 15 grand - not that it is really worth that much money, but if you want a nice c-body convertible, you'll spend more than that to get one restored as nice as this one appears to be. I'm gonna watch this auction closely. . .

From what I see in the photos, I would generally agree with this assessment. I would add that the upholstery is pretty correct, except the piping on the seats should be white and they are missing the ornaments that go on them. If all adds up on the body code plate, it should be worth in the upper range cited by Rapinator.

This one is definitely in the not a chance range... the wheels alone are screaming here's a crappy flip attempt!!!

Have the decency to get the correct road wheels or wheel covers!!!
yeah, althogh it's an original TNT car, I wondered about the wheels and the candy cane interior, but can't judge it without see it i guess

no idea re car..just remembered this one sittin up in Edmonton...with the exchange rate may be viable to some down south..use the saveings to rip that interior out and redo..sell rims and get roadwheels ect....just throwin leads out there..
