1969 Imperial 2Door
 
I am late to the thread. Here are some photos of mine. I would like it to look like the one above done by the Imperialist. Mine is also B9 blue and has 34K miles on it but needs some care to look like his yet.

I feel the 1969s are the best looking of the fuselage Imperials, but the later 1971-73 models were better, more sorted cars that give less problems. At least the ATC in the 71-73 models can be made to work with litttle effort. None of the other early systems from 1967 models through the 1978 models seem to be fixable any more without really intense effort and/or luck.

I’m actually really, really impressed with the build quality of this A/S Imperial Executive Limousine. It has an additional fully boxed 1/4” frame that extends from the front stub frame (engine mount location) to the rear frame rails (rear trunk/bumper). It has additional out riggers and gusset supports througout its’ 22 feet. It took 18 craftsmen and craftswomen over 220 hours to build the car.

I undersatsnd it’s not a Ghia, but it’s still a very, very well built and impressive vehicle. It does have real mutton skin carpeting like the Ghia Imperials. Chrysler did have A/S build the Limousine to high standard, as this was a Chrysler internal use car.

It’s the first one built, an internal ordered car for Chrysler Executives and Public Relations use. Used by NBC Burbank Studios, 1969-1972, a main livery occupant was Bob Hope.

Great score Trev! You now have another very rare and unusual Mopar collector's item. It appears to be in great shape. Enjoy.
 
1970 currently for sale in Arkansas. The asking price is $2.5k. DR8 Burgundy exterior, MSR9 leather seats. According to the seller, the engine is driveable. No radio, interestingly. I like the color combo but it has AutoTemp 1 so...

Has AC but no radio? Haaaaaaaaaaa.I can,t believe it.Maybe factory was out of radios or somebody stole the a box of radios for the Darts.Heh.B.B
 
I wouldn’t say that. Fuselage Imperials have their own beauty and sleekness. However, the ‘64 is a much better, well built car. It is also ALL Imperial. I like them both.

Beautiful car. The addition of the C pillar nomenclature as well as the rocker molding really dress it up compared to the very plain ‘69 coupe. The ‘70 wheel covers are bland so the substitution of the ‘69 covers really gives the best of both years.
