69 Imperial trim tag location

There is NO "trim tag" as GM used, but a DATA PLATE (usually affixed to the fender edge of the lh frt fender screwed onto the front wheel house stamping. Usually about the middle of the peak of the wheelhouse stamping.

You can get a "decode" of what codes are where on the plate, plus lots of OTHER information on it, too, by downloading a '69 Chrysler factory parts book from www.mymopar.com (might need to manually input that address). In the INFO section in the front of the book, is the decode template. In order to get the specific codes themselves, with explanations and illustrations, head to the "Library" section of www.hamtramck-historical.com (might need to manually input that address). Once you get to that page and select the model year and model from the spreadsheet menu, the "Color and Trim Guide" plus the "Dealer Order Guide" can reveal the trim codes you found on the Data Plate specifically, plus other paint colors, pin stripes, and such, too.

While it can be also good to find the Build Sheet under the springs of the rear seat cushiion, sometimes the seats installed were from another car with the same interior, so the VIN and other information can be different from what they should be. The DATA PLATE is a short-hand version of the Build Sheet which should have the correct information for your vehicle and VIN.

Enjoy!

Thanks….on the 69 Imperials it’s not there. On my 69 sport fury it’s on the radiator support. Interesting.
It's on the radiator support on the Imperial too.
