69 POLARA 500 FRONT STUB/SUB FRAME NEEDED

1.) Ok, when you get around to it, send me an E-mail address at ogredave@spiretech.com. I will forward pics to your E-Mail.
2.) If your frame rail actually rotted apart, it would be a good idea to carefully check the mounts on the body where the sub frame attaches, often these will be badly rusted also. If the mounts are toast, you have a parts car as there is no cost effective way to repair them.

Unfortunately i think that is where this car is headed. i cant see and floor left there and the rear most crossmember is hanging from the car, but it appears to be only one side as the passenger side is ok. I take it from your confidence that re-enforcement panels do not exist

Post some pictures of the floor area. There are two forward bolts into the firewall, you can see the boxed frame here to the right of the steering column:

Then there is the bracket below the floor one goes through the side:

the brackets look like this off the car:

If all of these points are rusted off the car you would also need the rocker panel up to the firewall where the frame mounts. I have all of those parts, but you would have to take a ride down to Jersey to pick them up. How is the rest of the car? It might be worth it.

From the sound of it, you will need to replace the rockers, complete, not just the outer shell. Most likely the cross members and brackets as well will need to be replaced. This is do able if you are handy with a welder. Note that the door post attachments, rockers, cross-members and attachment brackets require structural quality welds, so if you go that route be sure who ever does the welding knows what they are doing. Do not want a sub-standard weld failing on the highway, dangerous and embarrassing!

The rest of the car minus the floors is exactly as it looks in the picture. There are no holes in the body and its all there and straight. All of the pieces i need are missing due to rust though. i have no frame or floor beyond the firewall until behind the drivers seat but the inner/outer rocker panel is there.

If you wouldnt mind giving me a number on the bracket pieces and parts you have I would greatly appreciate it. Rocker panels look ok but if you have them I wouldnt turn those down either. i bought the car today for $250 just so he could get rid of it so i certainly dont mind the idea of putting some money into it.

Nice save for the money, I think well worth it. I spent a bit more on my '70 300 coupe, and it's probably a bit worse off. I'll post a few pictures of the rockers when I get home. You will still need a front floor pan, but I also have a good amount of sheet metal that might work there as well.
