Well, I hope you find it we'll both benefit...just remember I looked for more than twenty years for one in my color and forgot about all the options.............dont be so picky

actually, if it was just reasonable to get to, life would be good. Looking more and more like new jersey trip this winter

means that the logistics of getting a good look at a car and working out the paperwork and shipping makes it not worth the aggravation in some cases.

You know that medicine hat car is still something to consider.......get rid of the too far attitude.

Dave, if you had to put a $ value on your vert, what would it be?

Unfair question.
Our car's $ values in the real world is totally bogus to what they're worth to us.
My answer would be "it's priceless".

Drive up, look at it, buy it, put it on a trailer, and take it home.

I never saw your question Bob. I paid $10,500. He was asking $11,900. I would have paid at least fifteen but look what it is. After all those years of looking I knew I had to strike. I dont think I could get ten grand for it, then again I wouldnt consider a hundred grand........So Stans answer is the best one possible

And there it is
yes, but you forgot a few things: 1, i don't have a trailer, and 2, the cost to trailer it may be just as high as shipping the car, and 3, i really wish these frigging people would buy a car and put the title into their own name!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rent a trailer. It may take an extra tank of gas pulling it home verus $3-4k to ship it. Plus you're going up there to look at it anyways...you might as well trailer it back.

[It seems to me that it wouldn't be worth going a great distance after a car that you couldn't drive home. make it a real adventure.... Ride a train out west.... You'll never forget that.

Trains are cool. I've been on a few nostalgic steamers, Strausburg RR, Pa. and Western Maryland Scenic RR. Perfect stress relief. I would like to take a modern one all the way to the West coast and back across central Canada.

I road the rails from Detroit to LA....via the southern route, Arizona & New Mexaco, then down to San diago and back to LA.... Then back to Detroit via Navada, Utah, Colorado. The package included a private sleeper compartment with all meals included. The meals were all 4star, chef prepared and served in a dining car with linins and real silver and china, I was runed....!
Also road from Minn, Mn to Spokane Wa once, (Went through Glacier National park), and picked up a 65 Dodge Town wagon truck.... then drove back to North Carolina.

There is nothing like traveling on a train. Private compartments include an attendent to take care of everything, (convert your compartment to a sleeper at night and a sitting room for daylight. The scenery is breath taking, things never seen from the road, (including auto salvage yards in every city. I tried to get them to stop the train a couple times).

If you ever have the time and opportunity to ride a train.... TAKE IT....!!!
