Yeah, all copies and variants of the original Chrysler design...the Ford Boss 429 motor was inspired from the Chrysler Hemi. I think they called it the "semi-hemi" motor, lol.....still a dog. woof.
Yea, well I'm gonna whoop the **** outa mustangs all summer long if it makes you feel any better.

Mopar did not invent the Hemi though, was already around in the 1920s, but as far as American market influence goes, agreed.

Happen to know BMWs engineer Apfelbeck started after the war with such developments for motorcycles at first, English manufacturer Rudge was one of the earliest in the 20s, but who was definitly the very first, can't say for sure.

Knew they had pre war multivalve race engines, but these models are beyond my closest interest.

Ross, which track do you run at? What class?
National Trail is my home track since I live in Columbus. I hope to run in the Friday night street fights this year but I'm just finishing my build so I'll need some test & tune. I won't race for points & I cant stand bracket racing.

Thursday nights at Kilcare is only an hour or so from me too so,I'll prolly run there some.

As far as what class, as I said, I don't race for points. I just like whooping mustangs. Also, my buddy is finishing a 99 trans am & we're gonna line em up as many times as we can although he prolly won't wanna keep getting whooped all summer.

The modern street Hemi shootout will have one or two events close enough to me that I hope to run at em this summer too.

NHRA just changed the rules so that 08 & newer full body cars don't need a roll bar & the paint on mine is barely dry. Dammit....

I've seen the recent video of your car in your garage. Is you car done now and ready to run?

Why, yes, indeed that would make me feel very nice. Throw a couple Chevells in there and you are copacetic in my book.

Needs some break in miles & then several rounds of dyno tuning. It's in Deleware right now. Once it's tuned then I'll get it back (February or so) & the track opens in May I think.

The car's in Smyrna if you guys know where that's at.
