70 Newport Rear springs

I know what I'm doing today.......

Many Thanks! sevnt300
We here at FCBO are truly blessed by our dedicated community that help others in keeping our C-bodies out there on the road. I, myself, have had my sorry *** bailed out many times by other FCBO members.
Let us all not take this for granted and let's keep this spirit alive and growing.

Take the old rear shackle hangers apart and look inside the hole where the shackle bushings are. You take out the two rubber bushings out and look in there and there is a third smaller bushing that spaces the two outer ones apart. Use that with your new shackle bushings.

It's probably not a big deal if you don't but I think it would be better to use it.

Good luck today! You'll get through this!!
oK. Got it, thanks!

Stan, your warm and fuzzy side is showing again, in case you didn't know. LOL

Are the front spring brackets (hold the eye part at front of the leaf spring) sold anywhere?? This is a ***** cutting through...and even than, it appears like the metal of the bolt and bracket have actually rust/fused together.

I don't think the hanger is sold new anywhere.

I've taken those apart with my impact, but you can torch the nut or the head of the bolt off... or grind the nut in half.... or nut splitter.

Any of those methods are going to be much easier than cutting through a hard bolt.

That's gotta come apart....use a black pipe for leverage...do I gotta come down
LOL you guys are rough. I've cutting at the damn thing all morning and have only got half way through the bolt. But that's not my biggest worry...the nut is like it grew out of the damn bracket. Its not gonna just pop out.
