Late last month, I got to spend almost a day working with Wyatt. Let me just say I would never bet against this guy. Trust me. He is motivated and will find a solution that will work to probably any problem that comes up. Very impressive.
Thanks Steve! This Brougham had two options...me walking away from it after I seen how rusty it was and driving 2200 miles back home with an empty trailer or me doing the unthinkable. This might be the luckiest 71 Polara Brougham. And to think some guy in New Jersey was just gonna part it out...Late last month, I got to spend almost a day working with Wyatt. I'm bringing my car to you to swap roofs, and all my bad window channels! I'm such a slacker. Thanks Steve! A derby buddy reached out and allowed me to come pull some parts from a 69 New Yorker that was going to meet its demise. (Rusty and well used Chicago car) so I got the regulators and wiring as well as switches. I was told 4 door stuff could work in a 2 door with some minor modifications...but I was also told i need 2 door regulators. Can someone school me fully on a fuselage power window conversion? Would a imperial 2dr have the same power regulators as a dodge? I have alot of questions...
I've never had an opportunity to compare the them side to side, so it is possible you may be able to adapt them to work between the different years. Could you post a couple pics of the '73 regulator for one of the rear windows?
Jeff
I got to see lots of eye candy on that trip. (...) John has an amazing collection and is a great guy!
Going strictly by memory, they do look a bit different than the '69-'70 units. I have a set from a 1970 Chrysler that I bought for my Sport Fury. When I return home on the weekend, I'll see if I can dig them out and post some pics.
Jeff
I have a pair of 69-70 regulators Jeff.Looks like I dropped the ball on this one. First I forgot all about it. Then I went up last night to look for them, and in the box that I thought they were in, were regulators from a '68 GTX. Now I have no idea where the Chrysler ones are, and it could be years before I find where I put them. I did re-check the parts book, and I was incorrect on the rear ones. They are the same for all coupes and convertibles from '69 to '73. The front ones do have a different part number for '69-'70, and '71 to '73. Anyone else have a '69-'70 coupe front door power regulator laying around?
Jeff
They mount into the door differently. I had one of the 69 70s in my door and working but it wasn't right and would have been very problematic. How different do they look from the ones in the pics that Samplingman posted?
Thanks, I’m ok with regulators. I hope they will fit the Polara, I shipped them out to Wyatt a few weeks ago.Looks like if you and Samplingman swap front regulators, everything should be perfect. He needs the '69-'70 style.
@71Polara383 , I missed your post a few months back. Is the red / white 1970 Polara convertible one of his? Any more details? @polara71 , is this the repainted rose bowl car?
OK, it's not, it's John's car. My bad, and thanks @71Polara383
The Rose Bowl car (my ex 70 ) to the best of my knowledge is still white. When it does get done it won't be red .
So, you really do walk in my footsteps
I think his buying binge started just after visiting me, where he saw all my stash of NOS! Like I said, he is a quick learner.
