71440 motorhome engine hp?

There's your answer, Dave.
Why is my very early '76 New Yorker actually a very late'75 Imperial?
Why did 1981 MH 440's still have 1978 casting dates.

Actually........1976-1978 New Yorker's are very late 1975 Imperials.

What I was meant was there ARE distinct differences between the 74/75 Imps and the 76-78 NYB's. Tiny, but they are there. One example: rear marker lights.
My extremely early build 76 NYB has some stuff that were Imp only and didn't make it the NYB's.
Seems like a few guys down on the floor missed some of the ECO's (Engineering Change Orders).

My 1978 OEM hood has a Y stamped on the front lip on it designating Imperial. Check yours.......it has a Y stamped on it too. Newport's have a C stamped on the hoods.

Nice bit of trivia there, Bob. Just checked and yep, it's "Y". Good one.

The stamping for the Imperial sheet metal was kept for the NYB run to denote the "New Yorker" items, you'll find it on every 76-78 NYB.
