Thanks Ralph Nader
Didn't Cadillac have a convertible until 1976?

I had come across a 74 Crown Coupe for sale a few years ago North of the Twin Cities.I concur, the 50th Anniv edition is just a little toooo incognito. A color combination which better showed the lines of the car (i.e., something like the old B5 Blue, or Vintage Sunfire) might have made it more special visually, than the more anonymous "light yellow gold" paint that'd been around since about 1972. Perhaps the dealers didn't order other colors, if possible?

It was just a little too rusty to justify the 3k price the seller seemed determined on getting for it. What i remember the most about it was the velour /cloth seats and especially the shag carpeting.
Yes ...so did the Chevrolet, did it not? But the writing was on the wall
I was a rookie back then and oblivious to the ATC II demons...I have only seen 2 of them and I'm not certain it was the same car. I love those cars but the ATC II more than anything scared me off.
Not if you're shopping rear side markers...
Actually the Fusey and Formal shield markers ARE different. It's confusing because the code on the red lens is the same for all of the years it was made. The difference is the backing plate to the lens. The Fusey one is more curved and it won't seal to the body of a Formal.
You have to look at the code on the backing plate to make sure you have the right one.View attachment 142320

Just another hard to find for a fair price lens... if money is no object, you can find almost anything.Last GM convertible, back then, was the '76 Cadillac Eldorado conv. Last Chev B-body conv pre-dated that.
What usually deteriorates on the SML, the gasket, the base, the electrical items,or the lens? Gasket can be replicated with aftermarket rubber. Base might need some additional work to clean and polish. If the contour is a little different, possibly some thicker foam gasket or selective use of form-in-place sealer that can be reshaped to match what it's going to touch? FlexSeal, maybe?

Agreed. Any idiot can simply call Collector Car Parts and give them a CC number.if money is no object, you can find almost anything.
A sure way to spend $25,000 on a $2500 car.Agreed. Any idiot can simply call Collector Car Parts and give them a CC number.
This mystery person, who restores cars to showroom new, wouldn't happen to be you? Would it Steve? The black 72 Imperial 2 door is sold as I understand, and given the guy who bought it, rest assurred it will look like brand new again. He is very excited about finding it.
