If the investment is that important to you then a car should be considered a poor one. Especially a C body of any type.
I have two C bodys and would be considered "upside down" in both when all investment is calculated.
The value to me is measured by the pleasure I take from the use of them. Based on that I could "give" Jazabelle away and still come out ahead. Won't happen monetarily though.

well, thanks, but i never said I was trying to make money, I have never made money on old Mopars, only lost, but I have enjoyed them. I just was trying to see if this was a turning point in the C body market, as I just got into them very recently. But, i realize that it's hard to tell, so I will stop asking the question, not a problem.

Back on topic... I feel B-J should be ashamed of themselves for posting the wrong model of car!
These guys are supposed to be the best. If they can't get it right, shame on them! I used watch them all the time. Nowadays not so much. I got tired of seeing their favorites getting all the accolades and regular cars getting the shaft. Imho

BJ probably didn't write that listing, the car owner likely did.

But remember BJ is a business, and is about making money (#1) and anything else is a distant #2. Our cars have near-zero ability to increase their revenue, so we'll never gain their attention. But we really should be OK with that, because I don't want to have to pay 2-3x as much for my next C-body if they start to get popular.

And as much as I'd like for our cars to be 'cool' to the masses, I've been around the A-B-E-body guys at swap meets and lots of them behave as guys I don't really want in my circle. Lots of pretentiousness out there.

Ahh, Corvette guys. There was some segment of them that was evaluating whether they 'owned' the term 'survivor' and could prohibit people from using it.

Although, ironically, the Vette guys got it wrong. A car that stays in storage for years, loved and protected, and rarely driven, is not a survivor - it's an archive car.

A car that has 150k miles or more, too many owners to count, dents and rust, served as a DD within the last 10 years, and gets parked on a city street - now that's a survivor! (and I've said that before, in years past, so I own the term!)

'80's corvette, shiny sweatsuit wiith white loafers
It's not them so much. It's the guys with new ZO6's and stuff that wax it at home, drive it to the show, wax it at the show, drive it home and wax it again . Then it sits there, under cover, until next Sunday...

Dale,
Keep asking, maybe not a whole slew at once, but I enjoy your bringing some of these cars to the forum... and I always like to speculate values. Your BJ post is a win in my eyes, crappy write up and $4500 for a $2500 car... all is right in the world. When they sell a car like that for $20k, we all need to wake up... of course $20 will buy a small MickeyD's coffee by then.

BTW I made a FB account specifically to find a parts car, which I will eventually. Your page is one I have joined and I see a little crisscross on the cars... could I interest you in "upgrading" your enthusiasm to Formals so you can handle some of the work for me too?:poke:

True...but they should fact check it anyway. If the owner makes a mistake they should correct . That way they could make more of their precious money...No? Sorry I can't stand bj.

We learned that long ago ..

And no, that's not what makes him an a-hole:poke:
And that's just how I want him to stay...
I have explained many times to to the poor emotionally crippled that sometimes it takes an A-whole to get the job done and that in the future they should not refer to me as "an", but rather "the". Most never understand that if I played nice all day, they would still be the emotional cripple incapable of making a decision. Stan, like you, can make a decision and is willing to share it even if it's unpopular.

Except on the an and the .....
Well... it was within a smaller environment... I don't expect to be the A-whole king of the universe. I will step to the plate if nobody else will within my much smaller world.

hi there, thanks for the kind words. To be honest, I still haven't quite gotten the concept of the "formals" I know, it's probably on here and I could try looking it up, but at the risk of getting "poked" I'll ask. Is that the post 73s? or maybe the even later 70s cars. Hadn't been too attracted to them, but then again, not that familiar. Also, let me know what you were asking. Did you mean to also mention formals on there if pertinent? thanks.
Dale
