Original....?

Interesting, it looks like undercoating. It is also at the voltage regulator.

Notice the radiator core support is not painted black

The underhood shot looks pretty OEM to me.
Not all Mopars got the blacked out core support treatment. There are several examples of that out there, including my 300.

I think it's an honest car. Just wish he had saved something more interesting.

Yes.
The black paint/body colored paint thing has been discussed ad nauseum on Moparts about (of course) the A, B, & E bodies so I imagine it's applicable the C's.
Different plants treated the painting of the Radiator support differently. Seems that Ma didn't care what the plant did in painting the support.

What plant code has yours ?

You know Stan, for someone who complains about Moparts as much as you do, you sure seem to spend a lot of time there

I'm a Mopar trivia junkie. What can I say...
95% of the kids over there are complete asses, but, there are some non C-body MOPAR technical expertis over there that have bailed my sorry butt out some complex situations.
The info is excellent and if I have to sift through 1,000 idiotic threads and replies to get one juicy bit of knowledge, it's worth it to me.

I get it Stan, I have been there for , I dont know, 15 years. That was one of the first sites I found when we got our first computer

My 69 300 was screwed together at Jefferson assembly, (plant code C).

My 70 300 was built there as well and has the support blacked out. Seems also to depend on the line worker or his mood.:)

My 300 is an early build 69, (OCT 8), Things changed fast in in those assembly plants back then. Chrysler quality control left a little to be desired. Ever wonder why some cars got fixed mast antennas and others got telescoping masts....?

Chrysler is said to be even superior to the lesser makes or B-bodies and I got a couple of OK stamps from quality inspection on the body, but it seems that left door slightly scrapped the front fender since day one, not to mention what Hurst did afterwards. But still love it.

Things din't improve by '76 either.
1. Holes for trunk lid emblem crooked.
2. Holes for front fender rocker trim off by 1/4"
3. Right outside rear view mirror mounting holes in wrong place so mirror is permanently crooked.
4. Interior trims screws not hitting the attachment holes so permanently flopping around.
I could go on and on...
Q/C was totally absent by then.

Saw a report in a some musclecar mag of a completely original low mileage Torino GT where they put two Torino scripts side by side on the hood. Looked real funny.

It must be an original low mileage car with that level of bidding.
