727 3rd Gear Drum Cracks

I am rebuilding a 727, I was just about to put in the springs, steels, frictions into the 3rd gear drum, until I noticed cracks around the edge of the drum.

The 727 will be going into an RV behind a 440.

Is this drum still usable or should I replace it?

I've never seen that before but then again I've only refreshed a couple transmissions in my time.
I think the answer is evident. If its cracked where it aint supposed to be, replace it for sure.

I've never seen that either and I can't think what would cause it.

I would replace it. No doubt.
