741 or 742 rear end?

Got a good deal on 3.23 gears but I'm away and can't remeber if i've got 741 or 742 on my 383/727/2.76 -66 Polara.
Whats most likly that my car got from factory, 41 or 42?

Most likely a 741 case...

If it is a good deal, buy it no matter which one it is. If you have a 741 and buy a 742 and if the 742 yoke takes the large sized U-joints you can either change yoke or buy a U-joint that has both large and small sized bearing caps that is made just for that situation.
