1976 Chrysler New Yorker

1976 Chrysler New Yorker. 60k original miles. Chrysler 440 engine (Lean Burn system disabled/OEM conversion). Great condition inside and out. Starts easy, runs well. Have replaced wires and plugs, steering column (telescope function was broke), replaced ALL fluids/filters, replaced wipers, replaced blower motor, replaced rear shocks (had air shocks), all new brakes. Car looks to be resonably priced. Except, I wonder just what he is referring to about the lean burn disabled, OEM conversion. There really is not any such thing as both Chrysler and the dealer would have been on the hook for big fines for such a conversion unless there was a later EPA emissions replacement device certification that I am not aware of. Most of these cars that are still running had the Lean Burn system removed, but this was long after the vehicles were subject to inspection. Probably has something to do with why there are no under hood photos. A lot of the Lean burn removals were hack jobs that left these cars running like crap.

My guess is he means Mopar electronic ignition conversion.
