Has anyone spoke to the owner ? Wondering if its a real HP engine. They had
2- 400-4 engines available that year. Would have to a P code vin#.

Didn't the E68 engine option have a dual snorkel air cleaner and no ELB? If that's the case then this is not a 400HP IMO. No cats and dual exhaust would also be a tip off.

How so? I've had 2 t-top cars, Both had leaks from bad seals made of unobtanium. I was always paranoid while one or both were off and stored in the trunk they would shatter. Get groceries or hit a wrecking yard and the tops stay home or stay on. It just didn't work for me.

My 77' Is an N code, but has Factory duals and catalytic, and HD 727 non lockup just like the P code. Special order?
Now doesn't that muddy the waters a little? Canadian cars might be different? More research coming I predict.

Obviously it's an opinion thing but for me the T's give you much more open space. The T is an inconvenience over the sunroof from the start. So, the seals leaked.... again, at this point of the cars life it would be a fair weather driver so leaky seals don't matter and even if they do, they never leaked that bad.
My car went food shopping for a family of 5 many times. The glass was in their bags and I went. Same thing going to the beach. The trunk was always big enough to accommodate.
If it wssnt, it wouldn't matter. The passion I have for the open air trumped the inconvenience.

Unfortunately the BB's were history by 79. They should've came out with the 300 in 78 and put a 440 HP Police package in it.

I Love Cordobas. It was a huge mistake that Chrysler didn't get into the "personal" car game almost a decade earlier... and by the way, splitting the 300 from the C platform and onto some version of a stretched B would have been the perfect way to do it. I drool to think what was probably on the drawing board and killed by Chrysler's idiot product planners of the day. Probably busy thinking up another trim level below Newport Royal to kill more Fury sales. But I digress...
This car looks red on my cell phone, but if the color is "Bittersweet Metallic", count me in! Beautiful color in sunlight. The only thing that hurts the car is the granny-looking BSM. It's like plastic covers on a lampshade. Some kind of roof option would be nice.
For the record, I am in love with the '79 Magnum I bought in January. 40k miles. This must have been a Wednesday car, because it's still so nice and tight. 100% original under the hood (318) and starts with a 3 second crank every time. Honestly I would have passed without the T-tops. They are a goofy and sometimes inconvieniant option. They would never make the cut in today's beige auto-appliance world. That's why I love them.
A word about value... I sold a white/white '79 E-58 360 'Doba in 2009 for $5k. It was a California car. I'd give $5k maybe even $6k for this one (if not for those damn moldings)

So far, I'd have to say I like my '79 I've had. There's a few things that I don't care much for but, basically the car is a 73-74 Charger under the skin. I'm hoping down the road to add fuel injection and maybe lower gears to mine.

My 76 Cordoba had single exhaust and no cats. I bought it off the second owner, a friend's mom, who bought it from original little old lady owner.
My 78 Chrysler FSM has several variants of emission packages that included no ELB, no cats, etc. Some were Federal vehicles and other were exports....Canada, Europe, etc. I know as late as 1989 Germany didn't have unleaded gas. I bought a new 89 Z-28 through the PX in Germany and had free shipping to Germany and back. When I received the car, I had to remove the cat and install a "test Tube" to drive in Germany with leaded gas.

I was stationed in Japan back about 15 years ago. My first car was an 1989 Honda (aka Acura here in USA) Legend Coupe. My Acura had less emissions equipment being a non-US car. I think it made about 20hp more than the US version but, don't quote me on that.

Went to look at this car yesterday with the intent on bringing it home. Wasn't there 2 minutes and knew I did not want it. Waste of a 4 hour ride each way and almost 500 miles. Just a friendly reminder, don't believe the pics.

Was told by the owner that there was no dents ,dings,rust,etc. Wrong! Soon as I pulled in the driveway you could see a large dent/ding from something flying around in the trunk,car was repainted in spots and had molting,was told all original,small rust hole in front of driver side rear tire,etc. Interior was in nice enough shape and engine compartment was fair to good and seemed to be all there. His starting price was $8000 and had him down to $7500 on the phone so was thinking at that asking price must be a decent car. Never made an offer as I was not interested after looking at it. He could have said $2000 and I still would have passed, not that the car is that bad, just not what I am looking for condition wise. Like I said, DO NOT trust pics alone!!

It sounds like a 4k to 5k car to me. I don't see many big block Cordobas left since Mopar guys have used these as engine and front disc brake donors for the other platforms as well.

I guess I am a little jaded, but I think 4G is pushing it. Unique car for the color combo (bet it was sweet when new) but too much would have to be spent to make it right. A few other things not listed but did not want to continue bashing the car.
Thanks for sharing this... I like to read the review of the actual car, not just read the ad and wonder. I have little interest, but it was almost a neat car...
Ten foot pictures make most crs appear a lot better than actual condition. I'm the same way....I won't pull the trigger on car until I have my eyeballs on it.
