Old Man with a Hat
Hood stripped, all sanded and in the booth. Gonna mask it and prime it next.
That's just not up to your usual standards Chris. I still see a lot of trim, lights, etc.Hood stripped, all sanded and in the booth. Gonna mask it and prime it next.
Yeah I know Peter but it's a paint job not a restoration. That's just not up to your usual standards Chris. I still see a lot of trim, lights, etc.

Yeah, made a living doing paint and bodywork for 45 years. Definitely have done it before!looks like you've done this before, my first paint job around 1964, I was 16 and painted a 53 Studebaker, used a vacuum cleaner sprayer attachment and reversed the output on the cannister, decent job but that night it got cold (outside) and the whole job orange peeled. HaHaHa
Ok, we have paint! A coat of sealer and 3 coats single stage Spinaker White.

I believe it is the same color Steve. I tried something different and bought it from TCP Global off of E Bay. It's a single stage acrylic urethane. Went on very nice. Reasonably priced at $224 for the gallon of paint and a quarter of hardner.Looks great Chris! Is that the same EW1 spinnaker white that is on my 1970 Chrysler 300? Chrysler got good use out of that color if so. Was your single stage paint readily available or was any special mixing necessary to get it to match the original and what brand did you use?
My 70 is currently being fully restored and is at the body/paint shop now, so I will need to make that decision in the next month or so as well.
Mine is a triple white U code 300 coupe with a red pin stripe down the side, so I am looking forward to getting it done by mid next year.
I am pretty sure they are left- and right-handed (2 different part numbers). If installed on the correct side, then push/slide upwards to remove. If not, then push downwards to remove.I removed 4 of the 6 but the last 2 are stuck on good. I was afraid to break the plastic if I hit them too hard. Not sure if the previous owner glued them on or what .
I didn't try taping down. All the ones I took off came off by tapping up. In fact none of them were hard to remove. They were actually too loose.I am pretty sure they are left- and right-handed (2 different part numbers). If installed on the correct side, then push/slide upwards to remove. If not, then push downwards to remove.
I can double-check tomorrow.
