What's not to like about that?! Congrats!

Here's the link from the dealer. I bought the car without going to see it in person. If I had done that I would not have bought it. Live and learn. The dealer did not completely misrepresent the car, he was just doing what he needed to do to get a buyer. The dash is not "100% functional", the radio is not "fully operational" but may work if I can figure out the antenna situation, dash pad is split at the rear view mirror, and for keerists sakes, I hate it when they spray paint everything black in the engine compartment. I could go on and on but I would rather you enjoy the pictures.

All in all it looks like a really nice car. Don't beat yourself up over not going in person to see it. Make the best of it, look at the positives not just a couple of sticking points. She's a real beauty from what I've seen. When I bought my Lotus I went to see it drove around the block etc. Loved it. So I bought it. I traded in a beautiful 93 jaguar xjs on it, after going thru nyc traffic, over the gwb and through heavy construction, the fan fail light came on, the radio quit, the one power window quit... half way back to Pennsylvania I almost cried wondering what the hell did I get into. Well that was 13 years ago, I sorted out all its little problems, and the more I drove it the more I loved it. I still have it and wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Hang in there!

That block should be all Turquoise with a gold air cleaner housing, IIRC. Chrysler Blue didn't exist for another ten years on Chrysler big blocks. The engine looks blue in the pics, anyway.

You have a nice-looking '62 there, enjoy!

Yes, all in all it is a nice car. Black on red was a bonus but I was really sold on the low mileage and that it is a base model. Some people like convertibles, I prefer the base model cars. I could tell from the pictures that the engine was the wrong color but what I couldn't discern was the rattle can detail job they did on the rest of the engine compartment.

I've already installed a 4bbl intake and carb and discovered there is a weeping freeze plug. Behind the starter, of course. So, if I can't get to it I'll just pull the motor and repaint it the correct color and do a correct engine bay detail. Or not......

I love it, there are a couple of spots that Show some minor flaws and rust issues around the Corners of lids and doors, but I'd consider them common with such survivors. Pretty much reminds me of one low mileage car I purchased from a dealer 7 years ago, who also had some bad ideas in enhancing the Overall impression, but it came all off with thinner.
Carpet seems to be replaced I guess ?
What happened to the bumper sticker btw.
